Let's Talk: Hair & Makeup

Hi all!

Today I'm linking up with Andrea and Erika a day late for their "Let's Talk" series. Today is all about hair and makeup and I loved going back a reading through their suggestions.

I'm such a simple person when it comes to hair and makeup. I get the cheap stuff. I don't like wearing a lot, plus I don't really know how to do it that well. Plus I need hair tips, so pleaseeeeee HELP!!!!

So make-up.....

I use really cheap products that I found years ago in Target and haven't gone back. I use the same products every day (if I put on makeup) and haven't changed it up so I probably should. Recommendations welcome :)

l start my morning putting on Olay moisturizer. I love it because it has SPF 15 in it!

I put this foundation on each morning next. It spreads well and blends in while still hiding the problem spots. It's the Maybelline stick.

I use this powder. It's NYC Color Wheel and matches my complexion perfectly! I find this at Target and sometimes Walmart for maybe $5.

Then I use Maybelline mascara. This is the Waterproof version and man on man is it waterproof! I even have problems getting it off at night. But it spreads great and makes my lashes longer than they are! Ive always used this kind of mascara because this is what my momma uses. I always remember her using it every morning so it kind of stuck.

To get it all off at night I use this. Nuxe face cleaning. As you  can see mine is almost gone and I need to order more, but I can never press the order button because it's 25.00 a bottle, but it did last me over 6 months so it's so worth it! I'm just cheap :)

I use Clinique "Happy" perfume! Again this is another item I picked up from my mom. She always uses Happy, and I do too. I love it!

I just got this Essie nail polish, Bachelorette Bash and when I get my nails done next weekend I going to have them use this on my toes. (Notice cute puppy in the background)

Now hair......

Ya'll I don't do good with my hair. I have the same 5 styles and don't move from those, but that's not my problem right now. My problem is the dryness. Since moving to Vegas my hair is sooooo dry. I feel like it's going to break each time I straighten it. I know it's the dessert too because when I go home or to the East Coast those are my BEST hair days. I don't know what to do. I've tried deep conditioning treatments, leave in conditioners, heat protectors, different shampoos/conditioners, etc. Nothing works.

Currently I'm not using my straightener at all and just drying my hair and putting it up because at least it's getting a small break from the heat of the straightener. I'm hoping that this summer I can get my soft, smooth hair back. Boo dryness!

Here is what I use in my hair at the moment. Like I said I mix it up...

I started using RenPure shampoo/conditioners and I love them! They smell great and make my hair soft so far!

I follow that up with John Frieda Leave-in-Conditioner. This is helping with the spilt ins and keeps the loose hairs away.

And here is the straightener I use. It's the Nano from Sally's. I got it when it was buy one straightener, get one free three years ago and this is still my first one. I still have the other one in the box.

So that's it.... pretty simple and easy.

Suggestions for makeup,  and hair products are always welcome!!

Here are the other "Let's Talk" link ups coming up!

Have a great day!
