Hi all!
One of my New Years Resolutions was to read more for pleasure. I love reading, but rarely get a chance during the school year, but this summer I've read so many great books and I wanted to share them with you.
This is how I feel about reading.
Since it is July I thought I would do a book review now of the books I've read in the first part of the year then another in December!
Here we go!
First I keep track of all my book in my planner so I have a running list. It's always nice to know what I've read and look back on it.
I love series books! They are my favorite. I hate when a good book ends and there is nothing after it. That's why I tend to lean towards series books.
Some series books I read so far this year include:
(P.S I've linked the Amazon version of the book in each title)
This one leans toward the 50 Shades of Grey genre, but has a much better story line. I love Sylvia Day as an author so had to check this out! I read these two on the way to Atlanta back in April so they are pretty fast reads.
Another Sylvia Day book I read was the final installment of her Crossfire series. I LOVED this series. and didn't want it to end at all! Like I said before her books are on the rated R side, but I love this story line much more than 50 Shades. Yes, they have their sexy parts, but the story is so much more than that and that's what I focus on.
This is a 5 book series much like the Crossfire series, but much different from any storyline I've read in that genre. I loved it. I was staying up late to read these books and laying out by the pool a lot longer than I should have! This series sucked me in.
Las, but not least of the rated R genre books was...
This one was just ok to me. After reading the Hacker series this just didn't match it at all.
Now if your not into those kind of books I've also been reading a lot of others as well!
I loved this book! I got sucked right in and fast. It was so intense and I kept wondering until the end what the final outcome would be. I was confused and mad and sad and everything! I can't wait till the movie comes out in fall to live it all over again!
Here's the trailer!
I read two biographies so far this year.
I'm all into gymnastics recently because of the Olympics and have always loved her. Her book was all about how she got to the Olympics, her life during, DWTS and attempting her comeback. I loved reading about all the work that goes into making an olympic team and her behind the scenes account. She also put life lesson and motivational quotes throughout her book which was very inspiring. I highly recommend this book if you're into sports, olympics, or love DWTS!
I'm all into reality TV and love the housewives so I had to read this book! It was very interesting to hear about her experience and how she is going to grow from her time behind bars. I guess we will see since this season is playing right now!
And my all time favorite book this year so far (and maybe EVER) because it is that good......
I loved this series so much. Like big puffy heart loved it! I read these three books in three days because I just couldn't put them down at all!
It's about a single mom, Kacie trying to raise her twin daughters by herself. When a rainstorm lands a handsome and famous hockey player, Brody at her mom's inn for a couple nights her life changes forever!
I loved it ya'll! Give it a try! It's amazing. Plus it's free on Amazon Unlimited if you have that and if you don't I recommend it! You can read unlimited books for $9.99 a month! It's been totally worth it for me this summer. Who knows how it will go during the school year, but so far so good!
So there you have it everyone. That is part 1 of my 2016 book review! Look for part 2 around December!
Let me know if you have any book recommendations that I should read this year!
